Hi! We are Yassi and Haddy!
Yassi is a theater director and assistant professor of theater history. Yassi has a longstanding penchant for sparkles and sequins from her synchronized swimming practice. In her free time, she can be found playing fetch with her cat, Lulu, reading, or watching weird theater and film. She also makes a mean crustless quiche.

Haddy is a painter, scenic and costume designer, and theatre director. She loves traveling and has visited over 20 different countries. She spends most of her free time playing with her ridiculous 90lbs trickster dog who she swears is part pre-historic alligator, Max, searches supermarkets for anyone who carries Dr. Pepper 10, reading sweeping fantasy novels about badass women, collecting earrings, and daydreaming.

We are just your typical crazy art ladies who nerd out over all sorts of creative practices, and we really mean nerd out, because, as it turns out, we're theory geeks too! This is our first podcast and we are very excited to invite you on this journey with us! We are making this podcast in the hopes that we all get better at celebrating the creativity in our lives and using it to make the world a more artful place.

Art if...! Podcast aims be a meditation of the role of art in this world. The idea came to fruition during the COVID-19 crisis as the founders felt an increasing need for creativity, community, and reflection. Each week, on Art If ..! Haddy and Yassi chat with a working artist about the role of art in the world, their lives, and relationships. At the end of each episode, they invite the guest artist to provide a “provocation,” or creative challenge where the listening community can participate and share their own creativity. In addition to cultivating a creative community, Yassi and Haddy hope to see the conception of art expand, as they will interview all different types of artists, from sculptors and painters to tattoo artists and theater designers.

We hope you will follow us on social media and become a part of our ever expanding community of artful thinkers!
